Two individuals who were arrested for posing atop a chaitya at the Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya have been remanded until February 20.
The remand order was issued when the suspects were produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrates Court today (Feb 15).
Meanwhile, the Magistrate also ordered the OIC of the Mihintale Police to submit a report on the investigations that are being carried out into the incident.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspects were students at a private Arabic College in Thihariya.
The students have been identified as Jalaldeen Rizni Ahamed and Razik Mohamed Jiffry.
