Two persons who were arrested over allegedly maintaining direct links with the group which carried out the Easter Sunday attacks have been remanded until May 28.
The suspects who were detained for 72 hours upon a court order on May 17 were produced before Kebeithigollewa District Judge Malinda Harshana de Silva yesterday (May 19).
N.M. Abdul Rasool and Mohamed Nijam, have been identified as a Principal and a Vice Principal of a school in Horowpathana. They had been living under the same residential address at the time of the arrest.
They were apprehended by a team of police personnel led by the OIC of the Horowpathana Police, and Sub Police Inspector Gamini Jayawardena in Horowpathana on May 16.
