The British Government has expressed concern that the move to dissolve Parliament has ignored calls from around the world, including the UN & Commonwealth to reconvene and vote.
British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, James Dauris took to his official Twitter handle to give the following statement

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific, Mark Field also expressed concern and said the ¨UK calls on all parties to uphold the constitution and respect democratic institutions and processes¨
