Ukranian national arrested for using spear gun while fishing in Rumassala
A Ukranian national has been arrested for engaging in fishing using illegal fishing gear at the White Jungle Beach in Rumassala, today (Mar 04).
According to navy officials, the suspect a 53-year old Ukranian national, had been engaging in fishing using a spear gun that is banned from being used for fishing activities.
The suspect and his catch along with the fishing gear have been handed over to the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources in Galle for further action.
