Unemployed graduates today forced the Northern Provincial Council to postpone their sittings after a brief session as they prevented the entry of 21 members including Chief Minister C.V.Wigneshwaran in Jaffna today.
The Chief Minister explained to them that cadre creation made by the central government and the Treasury and the provincial Councils was unable to do anything about appointments.
The security personnel of the Chief Minister suggested to call the Deputy Inspector General of Police and get the gates open, but the Chief Minister refused and told his bodyguards that he will respect their democratic protest.
Chairman and some other members were already inside and therefore commenced the sittings, but were postponed for another day.
