The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested a University Administrator in Colombo for publishing misleading information over Coronavirus status in the country, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said today.
The University Administrator who works in a state university shared false information in his Facebook page over the globally declared pandemic virus stating that many people died in the country due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. He was produced before the Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today and remanded till April 1.
