The UNP has lodged a complaint with the Police on the fake agreement circulating on social media suggesting that an accord was entered into between the TNA and the UNP.
Issuing a press release, the UNP said the fake agreement was a distortion of the law and moral values. UNP MP S M Marikkar has lodged the complaint on behalf of the UNP.
The release further noted that the UNP and the TNA vehemently refute such agreements.
Accordingly, the UNP urged the public to join hands in their attempt to defeat such groups which are attempting to utilise fake rumours involving rascism as a means of retaining power.
