A crucial Working Committee meeting of the UNP due to be held on Friday to resolve some of the outstanding issues of the alliance under the leadership of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has been postponed until Monday.
The move came as the Alliance members insisted that if the UNP wants them to contest under the Elephant symbol they need to hand over the symbol to the alliance.
UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that on Friday, instead of the Working Committee meeting, a group meeitng will be held.
