The United National Party's (UNP) Working Committee will convene at 3pm today (31) at party Headquarters Sirikotha.
Today is the first time that the party's new Working Committee will meet since the term of the previous committee ended on December 31.
The Working Committee is expected to further discuss the thorny issue of party leadership at today's meeting.
UNP MP Dr Harsha De Silva tweeted a short while ago that UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has "sacked" Sajith Premadasa loyalists Ajith P. Perera, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Imthiaz Bakeer Markar and Rosy Senanayake from the Working Committee last night ahead of today's meeting to agree on 'settlement.'
"Certainly not a good omen," Dr De Silva added in his tweet.
