The number of those arrested for violating curfew imposed at 6pm yesterday (20) has risen to 32 as at 1pm today.
According to Police Media Unit, the latest figures include 10 persons arrested from Bandaragama, nine from Uhana and one from Bandarawela.
Police said three of the nine individuals who were arrested for violating curfew in Uhana, had 1 gram of ganja and 40 miligrams of heroin in their possession.
The nine suspects, whose ages range from 18 to 60, are residents of Uhana and Samanthurai and are due to be produced before the Uhana Magistrate.
Meanwhile, 10 persons who were arrested in Bandaragama, who are all residents of Atalugama, are due to be produced before the Bandaragama Magistrate.
The suspect arrested in Bandarawela had been driving a lorry this morning from Bandarawela to Welimada. The 55-year-old suspect is a resident of Buttala and will be produced before the Bandarawela Magistrate.
