The Disaster Management Center (DMC) said today that death toll from landslides and floods around the country has risen to hundred this morning. Some 99 persons are still missing.
"Around 200382 People belonging to 52603 families were affected in 14 Districts in the country. 12007 people belonging to 2937 families were located at 69 safe locations," the department said in its routine update released this morning.
Due to the ongoing heavy rain, the water levels of Kalu, Kelani ,Gin, Nilwala Attanagalu Oya rivers rising water levels later caused flooding.
