A group of leaders of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) presented the Front’s election manifesto to President Maithripala Sirisena, the President of the UPFA at his official residence today, President media unit said.
Themed as ‘Assurance for Future’ the election manifesto describes how the UPFA government would implement plans and programmes for socio-economic development of the country during the next five years. The UPFA leaders held a lengthy discussion with the President about the ways and means of plan implementation.
UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha and SLFP General Secretary Anura Priyadharshana Yapa presented the Sinhala and Tamil copies to the President respectively. UPFA leaders Mr Dilan Perera, Mr Dinesh Gunawardane, Prof Tissa Witharana, Mr A H M Fouzie, Mr D E W Gunasekera, Mr Prabha Ganeshan and Mr Dullas Alahapperuma were present at this occasion.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
