The United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) is ready to meet and carry out discussions with SLPP presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in the future, party General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera said yesterday (Aug 12).
Mr Amaraweera was responding to questions posed by journalists.
"The main objective of the Freedom Party is to discuss the country's future," Mr Amaraweera said. "We have already devised a programme to take this country forward."
He said it was the party's intention to discuss this and come to agreement regarding the country's development program.
Meanwhile, Mr Amaraweera also said discussions between the SLFP and the SLPP will continue despite the SLPP naming their presidential candidate.
