The US State Department´s Spokesperson Heather Nauert has issued a second statement to President Maithripala Sirisena urging the reconvening of Parliament immediately adding that further delay undermines its international reputation.
The message was released by the State Department Spokesperson´s official Twitter handle.
We urge #SriLanka’s President to reconvene parliament immediately to resolve the political crisis. Further delay compounds uncertainty in Sri Lanka, and undermines its international reputation and the aspirations of its people for good governance, stability and prosperity.
