A cable car project worth USD 50 million is set to take place in Nuwara Eliya in a bid to enhance tourist activities in the country.
A total of 43 cable cars that could accomodate 10 persons each will be set-up as the first phase of the project, a proposal by Minister Navin Dissanayake stated.
According to the proposal, the entire project will see the inclusion of 86 cable cars which would connect Single Tree Hill and Lake Gregory in Nuwara Eliya.
Cabinet approval was granted yesterday to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to carry out the construction as a Board of Investment (BOI) project.
