Former Northern Province Governor C V Vigneswaran has expressed satisfaction over the appointment of Dr. Suren Raghavan as the Governor of the North.
Mr. Vigneswaran said that he was satisified about the appointment since this was the first instance in which a Tamil individual has been appointed to the said position.
He emphasised that it is only a Tamil person who could understand the problems of the Tamils and resolve them.
The former Governor had also thanked the President for appointing a Tamil individual to the position of Governor in the North.
Mr. Vigneshwaran aslo said he belives that the incumbent Governor would understand the issues faced by the people in the North and act accordingly.
