Indian media caught up with Indian businessman Vijay Mallya after the India-Sri Lanka Champions Trophy match in England on Thursday at the Oval.
He told reporters “I’m not interested in your questions. I didn’t expect you will interview me especially when there is a match,” News X reported
This is the first time after 3 years that Mallya has been caught on camera by any media house. Earlier he was spotted at the Edgbaston stadium while watching the India vs Pakistan match in the VVIP box and was also spotted with former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.
Mallya on Monday landed up at a 'charity dinner' organised by Virat Kohli's foundation but the national cricket team including the skipper maintained a safe distance from him. In fact, Mallya's presence forced the Indian team to leave early in order to avoid any controversy, the Times of India reported.
Mallya, had earlier watched the India's match against Pakistan at the Edgbaston on Sunday. He has currently taken refuge in England.
The Indian government is aiming to extradite Mallya from UK for alleged unpaid debts to the tune of Rs 9000 crore.
Incidentally, Mallya used to own Royal Challengers Bangalore, an IPL franchise which is captained by Kohli.
