A remote village off Horana has been hit by a scare of rabid Jackal attacks after at least two deaths were caused, Police said.
Many people including children carry poles and clubs with them to defend themselves from Jackals roaming in the area.
An eight-year-old girl and another 58-year-old man were attacked by jackals as they ventured outside their house. They died of rabies thereafter.
