All types of visas issued to foreigners who are currently residing in Sri Lanka for a period of 60 days will be extended from October 7 to December 5, 2020, the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration announced.
The procedure to pay the relevant visa fee and to get the visa endorsed in the passport will be informed later. The Department requested to refrain from visiting the visa division.
“If you intend to leave the island during the aforementioned period; your journey will be facilitated by paying the relevant visa fee at the airport without any penalty,” the Department said adding that the validity period of the acknowledgments issued for the applications already submitted to the department to obtain visas, will also be extended for another period of 60 days ; till December 5 this year.
