Water cut due to oil contamination
The Water supply to the Colombo Municipal Council, Kotte , Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia areas have been suspended due to another oil contamination which has affected the affected the Kelani River. Local media quoting the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) states that the water supply from the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant to several other areas has been suspended due to this reason. The water supply to the above areas will be restored once the water in the Kelani River returns to normal, the water board said.
