On a complaint received from a female resident of Nathuduwa, Kelaniya area, the investigation officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery Or Corruption (CIABOC) have arrested a water-meter reader attached to the Water Board Regional Office, Kadawatha and an accomplice, a retired person of the Water Board, recently when receiving a bribe of Rs.5,000 from the complainant.
The suspect has solicited the bribe from the complainant to reduce 77 units from the September water bill and reduce the actual amount to be paid.
