SriLankan Airlines organized a press conference in Colombo today (3) where the pilots and crew of the special flight who flew to Wuhan to evacuate the 33 Sri Lankans who were trapped in the city spoke of their experiences.
The pilots and crew had all volunteered to fly into Wuhan to evacuate the Sri Lankans who had been trapped their since Chinese authorities quarantined the entire city following the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus there.
Addressing the press conference, Chaminda De Zoysa, who was the Chief Pilot of the SriLankan flight, said their group does not consider themselves to be "heroes," but were simply doing their duty to their country.
