On information provided by underworld leader Makandure Madush who is in CID custody, a search operation was carried out in Negombo.
Drug kingpin Madush accompanied the CID officers during the search operation carried out on a 50 acre estate in Negombo today (June 29).
During the search operation a T-56 weapon was found hidden in the Dalupotha Canal.
The CID and Police Special Task Force officers who participated in this search operation recovered one T-56 Magazine gun without ammunition. The firearm and the T-56 2eapon were handed over to the CID for further investigations, the STF said.
