The Criminal Investigation Department today arrested Web journalist Desmond Chathuranga De Alwis on allegations that he published news harmful to the judiciary and obstructing its work.
The journalist, who is also the President of the National Movement of Web Journalists earlier served as a news manager at the Independent Television Network. He was arrested from his residence at Piliyandala.
