Web Journalist Desmond Chathuranga Alwis who was in remand custody for a over month over allegations that he had published news which are in contempt of court and the judicial process has been released on bail.
He was released on cash bail of Rs 25,000 and two sureties of Rs 500,000 each while a ban on travelling overseas was also imposed.
He was told to appear before the CID every week.
The journalist was arrested following a complaint by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
