Discussions are underway with the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC) on banning several pornography websites that display, purchase child pornography videos from Sri Lanka, a senior official of the Criminal Investigation Department said.
He said information have been received that some sites have uploaded videos of children here by paying a mere five to ten dollars a video.
“Not only this will encourage pedophiles to our country, but also encourage young people here to submit child pornography videos. Meanwhile, we are also in the process of strengthening the Cyber Crimes Act with tough action added to it”, he said.
