A suspect identified as 'Wedikande Kasun' was arrested in Kiribathgoda today over a theft involving a diamond precious gems valued at Rs 7000 million.
The suspect whose real name is K. Kasun Dhananjaya was arrested by police officers over charges of committing the theft on November 05 last year, Police Spokesman S.P. Ruwan Gunasekara said.
He added that the arrest was made following a tip-off received by officers of the Mirihana Special Crimes Investigation Unit regarding the location of the suspect.
