'Wedikande Kasun' who was arrested over a theft of a diamond and some gems has been remanded by the Gangodawila Magistrate until March 06.
The suspect whose real name is K. Kasun Dhananjaya and was found to be a close accomplice of drug kingpin Makandure Madush, and was arrested yesterday over the theft which was valued at Rs 7000 million.
Police said that he had entered the house of the gem merchant under the guise of a Police Constable to commit the theft.
