Former Presidential Secretary Lalith Weeratunga and former Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), Anusha Palpita, have been found guilty by the Colombo High Court in the 'Sil Cloth' case.
They were charged with obtaining Rs.600 million in TRC funds and misappropriating them to distribute 'sil cloth' during the last Presidential Election campaign.
The High Court is due to rule on the punishment to be meted out to the duo shortly.
