Moves are underway to digitalise the functions of the office of the Western Provincial Council in the near future, the Governor’s office said yesterday (May 26).
The digitalization process is expected to save time and ease the work load of some 86,000 employees at these authorities, Governor Azath Salley was quoted as saying in the press release.
He had also noted that officers at these authorities could co-ordinate among the relevant departments as a result of this move.
Sri Lanka – Oracle had presented a custom designed plan to suit the needs of the respective authorities, to Governor Salley at the office auditorium on Thursday.
The Chief Secretary’s Office, five ministries, the Governor’s Office, the Office of the Public Service Commission and the Secretariat are the authorities which would be digitalised.
