Western Provincial Council to be dissolved at midnight
The Western Provincial Council will be dissolved upon the expiry of its term at midnight today (Apr 21).
A gazette notification will be issued to this effect tonight, Western Province Governor Azath Salley told Times Online.
Following today's dissolution of the local authority, the total number of nonfunctional provincial councils will stand at eight.
The Uva Provincial Council’s term is to expire on September 8.
