MP Susantha Punchinilame today (Jan 22) told Parliament that he would not hesitate to use his official firearm for his personal security.
He made these remarks while referring to the threats he had received from an individual in Kantale.
Mr. Punchinilame said that MPs travel with or without police security. He added that they have been given an official gun for security purposes.
"I hereby declare that I would use my official firearm if myself and my wife or the people around me are threatened" he remarked.
