Army Commander Major General Shavendra Silva yesterday (Aug 25) said that he would be willing to sacrifice his life to protect the country.
He made these remarks after visiting the Sri Dalada Maligawa Temple in Kandy following his promotion as Army Chief.
During his visit, Major General Silva obtained blessings from the chief prelates of the Asgiri and Malwathu chapters.
