The writer of a short story which is alleged to have contained derogatory remarks against the Buddhist faith has been further remanded until April 23.
This was announced when the author, Shakthika Sathkumara was produced before the Polgahawela Magistrates Court yesterday (Apr 09).
The suspect could not be released on bail since the case has been filed under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
Mr. Sathkumara was arrested on April 01 by the police before he was ordered to be remanded until yesterday by the Polgahawela Magistrate.
