The Canadian High Commission together with the Asia Foundation recently launched a project named ‘Women’s Voice and Leadership’ (WVL) to support women’s rights organisations in Sri Lanka.
The launch was attended by foreign diplomats, women’s rights organizations, civil society organizations, government and non-governmental participants, the Canadian High Commission said in a press release.
Issuing a statement, the Canadian High Commission said that 27 women’s rights organizations will receive funding through a competitive selection process.
The Asia Foundation will implement the project with a CA$ 3 million contribution from Global Affairs Canada from 2019 to 2023.
