Langer Out of Running for England Job after Renewing in WA

Justin Langer has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant England coaching job after renewing his contract with Western Australia for two more years. Langer, who played 105 tests for Australia, said he spoke to England director of cricket Andrew Strauss twice last week about replacing Peter Moores, but decided to stay in Perth for family and other reasons. In a statement Tuesday, the ex-test opener says "When I followed my gut and my heart it was an easy decision." England is due to face New Zealand in a test series before hosting the Ashes series against Australia. Langer's former Australia teammate Jason Gillespie, currently working with English county Yorkshire, is widely considered to be the favorite to become England's next coach.
