At least eight persons were killed and 37 were injured when a bus ran off the road and fell into a precipice in the Kotmale area today morning, Police said.
The accident took place close to the Gerandi Ella area on the Gampola – Nuwara Eliya road.
The bus involved in the accident was a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus heading to Kurunegala from Kataragama.
Five males and three women were killed in the accident.
On Saturday night a private bus ran off the road in Welimada and 30 persons were injured.
