President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has welcomed the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
In a message posted on ‘X’ the President said; "I warmly welcome the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Sparing innocent lives and choosing dialogue over conflict is true statesmanship. As a neighbour and friend, Sri Lanka stands ready to support lasting peace and regional stability through constructive engagement."
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
