Aruna Lekamge has been appointed as the new Director of the Mahaweli Center by President Maithripala Sirisena today at the Presidential Secretariat.He is filling the vacancy occurred due to the death Prof. Vishva Varnapala.
Mr. Lekamge was a special student at the Finance and Management Faculty of the University of Colombo and completed his post graduate studies gaining special MSc in Risk Management at Manchester Metropolitan University in UK. As a specialist in insurance and risk management, he previously served as an Executive Director at Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and Ceylon Asset Management Co Ltd. He also was the chief in re-reconstruction unit of Sri Lanka Red Cross.
