The Parliament will launch a new television channel by the end of this year, a Parliament Official said.
Accordingly, Parliamentary sittings, sessions of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) and the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) would be broadcasted through this channel.
This step had been taken to disseminate information among the public in line with the Right to Information (RTI) Act.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
