St. Joseph’s College (SJC) Maradana, emerged as champions in the All Island School Basketball Games, 2022, in the Under 18 and 20 age categories organized by the Sri Lanka Basketball Association.
In an icing on the cake, they also emerged as champions in the Under 17 All-Island Schools Basketball Tournament and as Western Province, Basketball Tournament, 2022 organized by the Ministry of Education.
The Under-17 was led by Methika Jayasinghe, while Under-18 was captained by Charaka Perera. And Under-20 was under Shehan Fernando.
Rev.Fr. Ranjith Andradi, the Rector, praised and thanked the young Josephians for their laborious work, dedication, determination, passion and discipline to bring honour and glory to the College.
He also thanked Rev. Fr. Samesh Anthony, Prefect of Games, Rev.Fr. Priyan Tissera, Former Prefect of Games, Basketball, Roshan Randima and Shane Daniel , Co-Coaches and Hemal Fernando, the Master-in-Charge for their guidance and immense valuable support extended to the young Josephians to be victorious and was highly appreciated by him.
