Multiple injury concerns for Sri Lanka ahead of their Monday’s (16) clash against Australia as captain Dasun Shanaka has joined the list of injured players.
Seamer Matheesha Pathirana. with an inflammation in his bowling arm, is out for at least 10-days.
Team sources confirmed that both Shanaka and Pathirana will miss Monday’s clash and they are currently assessing the situation to decide the next cause of action.
Prof. Arjuna de Silva, the head of Sri Lanka Cricket medical panel confirmed that Shanaka is having a significant quadricep injury in his right thigh that may rule him out for a significant period.
Both Shanaka and Pathirana missed Saturday’s training session, the first since they set foot in Lucknow, the capital and the largest city in Uttar Pradesh.
