Lanka Heritage Cricket Club will be holding its second annual Double Wicket Cricket Tournament for Over-50s at the BRC grounds on March 1 and 2.
This year a total of 20 teams will be taking part in this two-day tournament, which will be divided into four groups and played on a league basis with the group winners going into the semi-finals.
The final is scheduled on March 2 at 4:30om with former Sri Lanka cricket captain Michael Tissera as Chief Guest. Chandra Schaffter will grace the awards ceremony as the Guest of Honour.
A large number of past Sri Lanka and first class cricketers are expected to take part in this tournament which will add camaraderie during the two days.
Lanka Heritage CC is a club which caters former cricketers with a membership Open to Men and Women.
The winners will carry the LHCC Trophy with a cash award as well as the runners-up while trophies for the Man of the Tournament and the Oldest Player will be on offer.
The first edition of the tournament was held last year at the Colts grounds and was won by Colombo Masters CC while SSC finished as runners-up.
