Sri Lanka have been the surprise package so far in South Africa (Women’s T20 World Cup) with two wins from as many games and inspirational skipper Chamari Athapaththu made eye-caching moves on the rankings for batters and all-rounders
Athapaththu is the leading run-scorer at the event with 83 runs and that saw the left-hander jump one spot to ninth. Australia’s Tahlia McGrath continues to lead the chart.
Athapaththu also finds her unmoved in 12 on the list for all-rounders, while teammate Harshita Samarawickrama has dropped two-places down to 43 on the list for batters. Her skipper, however, occupies the ninth place.
Along with their teammates, former Sri Lanka ODI captain Inoka Ranaweera has advanced to the top-10, lying in no.10 in the bowlers’ department.
Fellow player, Oshadi Ranasinghe, is down the ranking in no.30 without any progress.
