One of Sri Lanka's top spinner's Dilruwan Perera, has announced his retirement from international cricket, according to reliable sources.
Perera, rated as one of frontline spinners in the Sri Lanka Test team, has appeared for the country in 41 games and claimed 156 wickets with eight five-wickets hauls and two 10 wickets in a match.
As a batsman Perera has scored 1155 runs inclusive of seven half centuries with a top score of 95 runs in Tests.
He has played 13 ODIs and three T20Is for the country during a career that spanned from 2007 to 2021.
Perera made his international debut in an ODI against England on October 13, 2007 and made his T20i debut on August 6, 2011 against Australia.
Despite having an illustrious Test career, Perera made his debut on January 14, 2014 against Pakistan.
SLC confirmed Perera's decision to retire from international cricket by issuing an official statement.
"Dilruwan Perera announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket with immediate effect. Sri Lanka Cricket wishes him the very best for his future endeavors," the statement said.
In his retirement letter written to SLC, Perera however has said that he will continue to play domestic cricket.
