Later on, he became the vice captain of Sri Lanka Indoor Cricket team and toured New Zealand to play the World Cup.

Indoor Cricket was a very popular sport from early 2002 in Sri Lanka and also worldwide.

While playing First Class cricket Iddamalgoda had some other thoughts as well, he was adamant to form a cricket club with the help of another popular figure administrator Roshan Abeysinghe.

Together, they formed Ragama Cricket Club in 1991.

He also became the founder member and cricket of Ragama CC, who played Division II and Emerging Trophy cricket which contributed the newly-formed club in gaining premier with many wins and trophies to follow.

Ragama CC is the only Premier club in the entire Gampaha District and has proved itself as one of the best clubs in Sri Lanka, in which Iddamalagoda was the vice president.

His service to cricket was never ending - holding many professional administrations such as chairman of selection committee of Gampaha District Association (mid 90s), general secretary of Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) (2008 to 2012), executive committee member for 18 long years at MCA, executive committee member Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for five years (2012/13/14 and 2018/19) and chairman of tournament committee of SLC for four years.

He also became the manager of Sri Lanka national women's cricket team.

Through his great services to Mercantile Cricket, Iddamalgoda helped most of leading cricketers in Sri Lanka build their image while playing at MCA tournaments.

Iddamalgoda was unanimously elected the new president of MCA at its 100th Annual General Meeting, held on September 28, 2018 and held the full tenure of two years, thus becoming the 40th president overall and the 26th Sri Lankan to hold office.

The MCA was established by British expatriate planters in 1911 and the first Sri Lankan president was Chandra Schaffter in 1965.

Iddamalgoda served MCA since 2000 as an executive member, general secretary and vice president before being elected president including the centenary year which they celebrated in a grand scale in 2011.

Iddamalgoda, many know as a cricketer and administrator, but no doubt is a great asset to the Sri Lanka cricket.
