Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), as part of its restructuring programme of the High Performance Centre, appointed the staff of its coaching unit while confirming the appointments of Avishka Gunawardene, Ruwan Kalpage and Jehan Mubarak as Head Coaches of the Sri Lanka 'A', Emerging and Under-19 sides.
"The changes are aimed at further enhancing the focus on the National Team, ‘A,’ Emerging and also the Under-19 teams. The new coaching appointments were approved by the Executive Committee of SLC," issuing a statement, SLC said.
In addition SLC named Anton Roux, the former Head Coach of the Netherlands Men's team as the National Fielding Coach, effective from March 7, 2022.
Roux, who played First Class cricket in South Africa, will be in-charge of fielding across all national teams and the High Performance Centre.
Before joining Sri Lanka cricket, Roux was working as the Assistant Fielding Coach of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, in the United Kingdom.
The rest of the appointments came into effect from March 1, 2022.
