Former Sri Lanka skipper Sanath Jayasuriya is tipped to join Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) as a ‘Full Time Cricket Consultant’ according to informed sources.
Jayasuriya, a member of the 1996 World Cup winning Sri Lanka outfit, will serve in this capacity by providing his expertise in strategy planning, technical and few key areas such as training, coaching and overall development of the national team.
The appointment, however, is yet to be confirmed by SLC, but it is said that the Executive Committee provided its consent to the request made by Jayasuriya, who had sought a monthly package of Rs.5 million.
