Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) unanimously appointed a three-member Election Committee to conduct its upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
"During an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on Thursday (7), SLC appointed the following members to the Election Committee of the Sri Lanka Cricket in accordance with the sports law regulations," a press release issued by SLC stated.
Accordingly Retired Judge of the Court of Appeal, Justice Malani Gunaratne, Retired Judge of the High Court, Justice Shiromi Perera and Dr. D.M.R.B. Dissanayake, a Former Secretary to various ministries were appointed as the three members of the Election Committee.
"The SLC Membership unanimously elected the members of the Election Committee, who will be now tasked to conduct the election of office bearers at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of the SLC," the statement added.
SLC further explained that the EGM was held in compliance with the health guidelines.
