Wanindu Hasaranga's first-ever captaincy debut was off to a flying start after they brought the Colombo Stars to earth decimating them by 109-runs in the second of the double header on Tuesday.
Kandy Falcons enjoyed the best possible start posting a commanding 199, on the back of Andre Fletcher's thundering 102 not out. Pathum Nissanka, pairing for the opening wicket, provided their side a cruising start.
In return, Stars looked answerless and clueless, crumbling and collapsing to 90, not even midway mark fo their target. Hasaranga weaved a web through his hat-trick claiming a four-for.
Chief scores:
Kandy Falcons: 199 for one (Andre Fletcher 102, Pathum Nissanka 71) beat
Colombo stars: 90 all out (14.3) (Angelo Mathews 26, Keemo Paul 22, W. Hasaranga 4/14, Fabien Allen 2/1)
